I dreamed I was at the top of a Ferris wheel and the view was beautiful.  I could see the horizon.  I heard a message to “hang on” as we started down the other side and went up and ‘round and ’round again and again.

Life brings changes with varying degrees of ups and downs. (Imagine riding the rapids) And the “downs” are usually the challenge. When going through the downers in life, the first emotion we manifest is fear. Because of the uncertainty of the outcome, it seems overwhelming to react and deal with all that is presented to us at the same time. It can be frustrating, mind-boggling, and difficult.

Consider one day at a time, one hour at a time, and deal with what is most important at the time. I often ask my inner self what the most important thing is for me to do right now. And then I just start doing whatever comes. It is much less stressful, and something gets done. Making a list of activities to accomplish is another way to conquer stress. I look over the list to see what seems to be glaring at me and has a time deadline. It feels good to cross off the items as I finish each of them and simply go to the next “most important thing “to do right now.

Everything happens for a reason and most likely it happens to teach a lesson, or it may help us grow to a greater capacity of compassion and love.  As we look back on some of the traumatic or unpleasant incidents or undertakings we went through, we realize that we did “hang on” to accomplish something spectacular and wonderful.

When challenges come knocking at your door, remember to “hang on” and take the next step into what may be an awakening to your happiness and peace. A mantra that helps me “hang on” is: “All of life comes to me with ease, joy and glory.”  Try it. It will make you smile!
